Hondo's Ship, Somewhere in Hyperspace, Sunday

Ahsoka woke to the blue light and buzzing in her teeth and montrals that came with being suspended in a containment field, an experience she only wished she was unfamiliar with.

Well, great, that had been a shockingly unsurprising turn of events. What was Hondo playing at?

Luckily for Ahsoka, she didn't have to wait too long before the pirate himself put in an appearance. "Oh, good you're awake," he said cheerfully. "Now we can get down to business."

Luckily for Hondo, the containment field kept Ahsoka from being able to bodily fling him across the room. She had to settle for glaring instead.

"Hondo, what are you even talking about?"

[hondo_yes]

"Profit, my dear, profit!" For both of them even. Probably. Maybe. Eh, they'd work out the details later. "You see, child, while we were talking about the good old days, I came up with the most incredible business proposition."

"So you shot me?"

Why were you like this, Hondo?

[hondo_yes]

"You might have said no." See, perfectly reasonable. "Or gone to tell Kenobi, I like the man, but he is so very judgemental."

Spoiler, shooting Ahsoka and sticking her in a containment field was not particularly inclining her towards saying yes.

"I can't imagine why he might be."

[hondo_yes]

"Exactly. It is a mystery." Either Hondo was letting the sarcasm roll off him or he just hadn't noticed it. "Perhaps he was not hugged enough as a child."

"I don't think that's it." She'd been hugged plenty as a youngling, and she was judging Hondo pretty fiercely right now.

"I will have to think on it some more," Hondo decided. "Now where was I?"

"You were letting me go and returning me to the island."

It was worth a try.

[hondo_yes]

Hondo tutted. "All in good time, but first, let's discuss business like civilised people."

[snipsnspecks]

"Civilised," Ahsoka repeated flatly.

They were going to need to talk about Hondo's definition of civilised conversation.

[hondo_yes]

"Exactly, we're having a wonderful friendly chat right now." Well, he was.

"So, as I was saying, we were talking about that time you kept me from my crystals." So unfair of her, preventing him from stealing from children. "When I realised something."

Saying Ahsoka had a bad feeling about this would imply she actually hadn't at some point.

"Oh, no."

[hondo_yes]

"Well, kyber crystals were priceless even then," Hondo said, talking over her commentary. "But now? The Empire does not like people trying to trade in those crystals, not mention you need a Jedi to find them in the first place, and well... that whole tragic business."

'That whole tragic business' was one way to describe it, though right this moment Ahsoka was more concerned with the fact she could see exactly where this was headed.

"Oh, no."

[hondo_yes]

Hondo continued as if she hadn't spoken. That was going to be a theme over the next few days. "So I will get us there, you will find us some crystals, and we'll both be rich."

This was a brilliant plan.

"Hondo, that is a terrible plan."

Especially since it was nowhere near as simple as Jedi goes looking for crystals, Jedi finds crystals.

[hondo_yes]

"We can work on the details as we go," Hondo replied, waving a hand dismissively.

An alarm started beeping. "Ah we're almost there," he said, hitting a control to shut off the containment field. "Come along, Ahsoka, profit awaits!"

Ahsoka would have appreciated a bit of warning there, Hondo. Picking herself up off the floor, she scrambled after him. "Hondo, wait, almost where?"

Had a bad feeling didn't even begin to cover it.
